Packets received and just dropped? (high data usage)

Post by chaosmstr »

This is really odd.
I've had to revert back to 4.5.5 on Ubuntu 24 because with newer versions it seems to just... discard packets?

A 900Mb file is showing as 2.11Gb received.
This is driving my data usage through the roof.

This seems to occur on all versions 4.6 and newer.
Is anyone else seeing this behavior?

Screenshot attached.

It's not qBittorrent itself, but the used libtorrent I guess. I suppose the newer version comes with a new libtorrent (lt20) which has this weird behavior on your connection.

Thanks Peter.
I'll run some more tests and see if I can figure out whats going on.
Get a log file that'll show more, hopefully.

Maybe the new version prefers uTP (UDP) connections which end up getting fragmented/wasted. Just an idea. You can force TCP connections in settings also, see if that helps.
