Trackers stopped seeding ... just on my PC
Many greetings, and thank you for your attention and support.
All of a sudden, all torrents downloaded and opened with the app, goes to stalled, and, when checking the "Trackers" tab, they appear with the tracker status as "Working", the right number of peers (i.e. 6, 3, 11, etc.), but in the "Seeds" and "Leeches" columns it appears at "N/A". I've tried to open torrent files with the most seeds available to test the issue, and none will start downloading. Worst yet, I tried exactly the same torrent files in another PC and they started downloading immediately. I must have done something wrong, but what? I don't even try to enter to options from the beginning, since if something works, why to modify it?. I don't exactly know what have I done (if it was me myself) or it is an antivirus or firewall crap, (which I didn't alter, either, but it have automatically updated a bunch of times). Do you have any idea of what is going on and how to resolve the issue? Following the forum rules, I'm almost absolutely sure this is not a bug, since the same app, with the same build, behaves pretty well in other PC's, so I'm almost certain it is something that was changed in my PC, perhaps by antivirus/firewall or by myself (unawarely) or even a virus itself.
Thank you so much in advance for your time and support.
P.S.: I'm running Windows 10 in an AMD machine, with Kaspersky Endpoint Security 12.5.0.239 over a LAN, with windows internal firewall activated. It is a home LAN with 3 PC attached, and 5 phones connected via wi-fi to a router.

No answers? wow
Re: Trackers stopped seeding ... just on my PC
I'd remove all "security products" (spoiler: they are useless, worthless snakeoil garbage) and test again.
Here is what the AI has to say about things:
Here is what the AI has to say about things:
Here’s a structured approach to diagnose and resolve the stalled torrents issue in qBittorrent:
Step-by-Step Troubleshooting Guide
Firewall & Antivirus Check
Temporarily Disable Kaspersky/Windows Firewall
Turn off Kaspersky Endpoint Security and Windows Firewall briefly. Test if torrents start downloading. If they do, whitelist qBittorrent in both:
Kaspersky: Go to Settings → Threats and Exclusions → Exclusions → Add qBittorrent.exe.
Windows Firewall: Search for "Allow an app through firewall" and ensure qBittorrent is allowed on Private/Public networks.
Router & Port Configuration
Check Port Forwarding
Ensure the port used by qBittorrent (found in Tools → Options → Connection → Listening Port) is forwarded on your router. Use a tool like CanYouSeeMe.org to verify the port is open.
Enable UPnP/NAT-PMP
In qBittorrent, go to Tools → Options → Connection and enable UPnP/NAT-PMP to let the router auto-configure ports.
qBittorrent Settings
Proxy/VPN Check
Ensure no proxy/VPN is enabled accidentally: Tools → Options → Connection → Proxy Server. Set to None unless intentionally using one.
Disable Blocklists
Temporarily turn off IP blocklists under Tools → Options → Connections → IP Filtering to rule out over-blocking.
Network & DNS
Test with a VPN
If your ISP throttles P2P traffic, a VPN (e.g., ProtonVPN, Mullvad) can bypass this. Install a VPN, connect, and test torrents.
Change DNS Servers
Use Google DNS (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4) or Cloudflare (1.1.1.1):
Windows Settings → Network & Internet → Change adapter options → Right-click your connection → Properties → IPv4 → Manual DNS.
qBittorrent Reconfiguration
Reset Settings
Back up your torrents (use File → Export Torrents), then reset qBittorrent:
Close qBittorrent.
Delete the config folder: Press Win + R, type %APPDATA%\qBittorrent, delete the folder.
Reopen qBittorrent and reconfigure.
Reinstall qBittorrent
Uninstall via Control Panel, download the latest version from qBittorrent.org, and reinstall.
Advanced Checks
Update Network Drivers
Open Device Manager (Win + X → Device Manager), expand Network adapters, right-click your adapter, and select Update driver.
Check for Windows Updates
Install pending updates (some may affect network stack compatibility).
Logs & Diagnostics
Enable Debug Logging
In qBittorrent: Tools → Options → Advanced → Enable debug logging. Restart the app, reproduce the issue, then check logs under Help → Logs → Show.
Likely Culprits
Kaspersky Blocklist Update: Recent AV updates might have flagged qBittorrent as P2P risk.
Port Blocking: The listening port may be closed due to router/firewall changes.
DNS Misconfiguration: Trackers resolving incorrectly, leading to failed peer connections.
Start with Step 1 (Firewall) and work sequentially. Let us know which step resolves the issue!
(If problems persist, share qBittorrent logs for deeper analysis.)

I have this problem also. The above AI answer is worthless.
I feel like it's tracker blacklisting or something else.

If its tracker, then if you click Trackers tab on bottom, it will say in "status" column.MoerPseudo wrote: Sun Feb 09, 2025 12:31 pm I have this problem also. The above AI answer is worthless.

Re: Trackers stopped seeding ... just on my PC
It's all N/A
Maybe with 1000s of torrents there are programmatical issues causing update problems? Status is updating and never completes.
No one has come out about blacklisting. The tracker ppl should be here with reassurances.

There are no "tracker people".MoerPseudo wrote: Sun Feb 09, 2025 1:11 pm It's all N/A

There are three kind of torrent trackers.
1) Open source projects like "Opentracker" - https://erdgeist.org/arts/software/opentracker/
2) Closed/semi-open like the ones used by WhatCD back then, aka "Ocelot" - https://github.com/Mosasauroidea/Ocelot
3) Closed ones, not available to public, closed-development
Thing is, you get a reply from them in Status tracker, but the tracker decides what to reply.
Ie.:
IF you connect from a "bad country", I can just drop your connection and not send back a reply.
IF your client does this or that, I can just make you get no peers.
It's like a magical black box with 0 insight.
But there are people who know how it works.
The people on the tracker you registered on - their staff!
Contact them. Ask what's happening. Explain your setup, situation and let them help.
They have dedicated helpdesk staff, mods, admins, etc. Exactly for this purpose.

What you described is blacklisting, which is exactly what I claimed and suspected.Peter wrote: Sun Feb 09, 2025 1:15 pm Thing is, you get a reply from them in Status tracker, but the tracker decides what to reply.

Btw, none of your victim blaming counts, because I overseed on rare torrents (best kind of seeder - which barely anyone else does). And am still blacklisted for it.
I went to a couple of trackers and they 404 on connection with a browser. There is no standin page with email on them.Peter wrote: Sun Feb 09, 2025 1:15 pm The people on the tracker you registered on - their staff!

Re: Trackers stopped seeding ... just on my PC
Okay so there is a bit of misunderstanding how it all works.
"Trackers" are a word for both the front-end and back-end and the websites/communities.
What I just posted about is the back-end. The software that ties it all together, that does all the work. The tracker software.
Then there is the frontend, which is like the website which handles accounts, searching, admin stuff.
And then there is the communities like WhatCD was for example.
When you "open a tracker", they don't have a webpage. You are trying to open the tracker software which is not prepared to communicate to you in a web browser.
I really don't know what you are trying to seed, where you are trying to seed, etc.
- Is it a public torrent?
If it is, trackers go down a lot. That's why we have "PEX", the "DHT network", etc. They keep torrents alive without trackers even. But, if you'd like an up-to-date list of trackers, one of the qBittorrent team members made a project just for you: https://github.com/ngosang/trackerslist
Again, this is only for public torrents.
- Are you connectable?
1) Do not use a VPN.
If you must, use one with port forward and learn to set it all up.
2) Make sure your IP is statically set on your router OR your PC.
3) Make sure the port forward from router is set to your PC.
4) Remove that garbage kaspersky malware. They literally got banned because of security concerns. But honestly? All AV vendors in 2025 are just scam. Ever since Windows 8 and Windows 10, the in-built software has been SO GOOD, the "competition" became just snakeoil sellers. ( see: https://proton.me/blog/kaspersky-ban )
5) Use that ngosang project tracker list if you are trying to seed public tracker stuff.
Hope that helps.
If you are not satisfied with this "help", you can always join our Discord server, our Reddit community, or even our IRC. The project does not even offer commercial (or any kind of) support for qBittorrent, but we are still trying our best to help out wherever we can.

Re: Trackers stopped seeding ... just on my PC
I've been reading your kind answers and discussion. I still got the problem, even after doing all recommendations from Mr. @Peter. Still they don't work. Let me pinpoint the following, for the sake of clarity: My problem is that no matter what torrent, no matter the tracker/community page, no matter the amount of peers reported on such page/community, and no matter the amount of peers reported by QBT, I can't download at all. All of them are reported as N/A. Worse yet, and this may be a hint, all the public trackers (DHT, and the like) are grayed out. On the other hand, torrents already downloaded (before the issue) seeds perfectly and everybody is having a good time downloading from me. The download/upload ratio is about 1/20, that is a MB downloaded against 20 MB uploaded. Take it to GB or whatever you want. Some days it's even worse, I download KB's and people upload GB's.
Thanks so much to everybody that took interest in this issue and I hope that Someone can detect and solve the problem.

Re: Trackers stopped seeding ... just on my PC
Please try the following:
- Removing all Internet Security/antivirus products. Windows already has a great defense by default.
- Disable ALL and any VPN.
- Make sure there is "Any interface" selected in Advanced settings (qBittorrent), at the Bind interface.
- Make sure you try and download like an Ubuntu ISO file.
Ubuntu: https://releases.ubuntu.com/24.10/ubunt ... so.torrent
or Kali: https://cdimage.kali.org/kali-2024.4/ka ... so.torrent

Re: Trackers stopped seeding ... just on my PC
does encrypted dns or anything like that affect it?
Re: Trackers stopped seeding ... just on my PC
Yes. Of course.
Just return everything to "normal", if only for testing.
If you cannot use your ISP's DNS for whatever reason, just use Cloudflare/Quad9/Google DNS temporarily.

Re: Trackers stopped seeding ... just on my PC
Can you add a tracker list function that adds to all torrents and magnets that are not complete/seeding, from one copy+paste?
These tools by ngosang etc seem to be one by one, or only torrents or only magnets, or awkward (both ngosangs scripts failed).

I just click the _all.txt, then RAW, and you get this: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ngosa ... rs_all.txtMoerPseudo wrote: Mon Feb 10, 2025 11:45 am Can you add a tracker list function that adds to all torrents and magnets that are not complete/seeding, from one copy+paste?

And I paste all these into the settings -> Automatically add these trackers...
And done. Then I just swap it like once a month or whenever I remember.
Works like a treat.
