Hello,
First, let me mention that Qbittorent is a truly good alternative to any of the bittorrent client out there. Unfortunately, for someone like me that seeds more than 3000 torrents, this client is a RAM eater.
To comparison, I was using BITTORRENT and for about 3000, it was using around 195 megs of RAM. Qbittorrent takes around 450 megs of RAM.
Thanx. regards.
Qbittorrent takes way too much RAM compared to other!

Have you checked experimenting with the disc writing cache? If it is set to auto, it uses as much as it wants and could grow pretty large over time. It necessarily doesn't need to clean the cache as there are no limits.

This is a known issue (of libtorrent I assume). This will be fixed either in [hopefully] next libtorrent release or in qBittorrent 3.0.7 via modification of default options.
Right now you can set cache size in advanced tab to 128 MiB (https://github.com/qbittorrent/qBittorrent/pull/259)

Hello,
Well, I wasn't really taking about the WRITE CACHE but more about the RAM. I do host 5000 torrents with another client and I do know what I am taking about concerning seedbox. I do run on Windows 2008 R2.
I have tried 100 torrents in qbittorrent and I was up to 100 megs of ram. This is personally way too much, especially that this software doesn't resides on JAVA and or other .NET perequisites.
Thanx. regards.

Most torrent clients bypass OS caching mechanism. So when we talk about cache we talk about ram :S
P.S. Hmm, I see OS Cache is reenabled in master branch, I'll give it a try with cache=auto.
Still no good http://img40.imageshack.us/img40/1602/qbtmem.png
