qBittorrent will not bind to interface

Post by Jundt »

Hi there.

I'm using qBittorrent v3.0.9, and Ubuntu 13. I want to bind qBittorrent to my network interface, wlan0. In doing this, I want to restrict it from using my eth0 network interface. However, when I go into Options -> Advanced and change "Network Interface" to wlan0, it doesn't even use wlan0 at all. It just goes to eth0, the exact opposite of what I was hoping for. This is what the relevant part of qBittorent.config looks like:

Code: Select all

[Preferences]
...
Connection\Interface=wlan0
Connection\InterfaceName=wlan0
Is this a bug, or am I doing something wrong? Is there any way to accomplish what I'm attempting here other than unplugging eth0?

Only thing I can think is it's preferring the eth connection over the wlan if they both exist I think it always chooses the "better" option, eth being better than wlan.

Are you saying in the advanced options you changed it to only use wlan AND restarted, and it still only uses eth?

I'm reviving this thread as I'm having the same issue using SolydXK linux with qbittorrent 3.1.3.  I've told it to bind to eth1 only but it still uses both of my network interfaces.  The biggest problem is that the other interface is a soundmodem which I use for amateur radio.  I really don't want my qbittorrent looking for trackers over the radio.

Thanks.

This a bug of libtorrent. Try updating it and if it persists make a bug report on their bug tracker.
