3.11 windows setup file comodo says it contains malware

Post by oldpc77 »

My comodo antivirus says windows 3.11 setup file contains malware trojware.win32.trojanproxy.gluleria~ske@106882009.  I scaned the file with malwarebytes and it found nothing i am sure it's a false positive just thought you should know

Comodo is full of false positives. It's a good product, but they really need to work on their signatures.
I used Comodo for a year or so, and it literally flagged every single thing that was not digitally signed.

(Well, it sure is safe when you can't even run programs at all. At least you won't run into a virus.)

You can check EXE files here:

See this too: http://qbforums.shiki.hu/index.php/topic,2030.0.html

Since I changed  the installer compiler, we get this "false positives". I'll once again report it there, but this is stupid.

Hint: The version is 3.0.11 not 3.11

Haha, what the hell. Do you have to report every single file to them so Comodo won't FP them? wow. :D

Lol, I've sent them an email at falsepositive avlab.comodo.com and I get it bounced back
Hi. This is the qmail-send program at email.mcr.camdpams.
I'm afraid I wasn't able to deliver your message to the following addresses.
This is a permanent error; I've given up. Sorry it didn't work out.

<[email protected]>:
Sorry. Although I'm listed as a best-preference MX or A for that host,
it isn't in my control/locals file, so I don't treat it as local. (#5.4.6)

LoL. Did they just hash-whitelist it?

Stupid and annoying.

Sledge, maybe you should create a sticky thread addressing this issue (at least for now until it's sorted out). Let people know it's a false positive.
