how to uninstall 3.0.5

I just discovered this app installed on my computer today. Can't ever remember hearing of it until today. It does not show up in windows xp under add/remove programs or even in c:\program files

when it runs it shows qbittorrent.exe in the process list but I can't find any trace of that exe using windows xp search

The closest thing I can find is this file QBITTORRENT.EXE-258DEA20.pf 
located in c:\windows\prefetch

What do you mean by installed if you can't find it anywhere?
Prefetch is NOT the file itself. Prefetch is a technology used by Windows...

You can find the application under Program Files, and the settings under %APPDATA%.
(%APPDATA% is a location. Press WIN+R and type: %APPDATA%)

I mean exactly what I said. There is nothing in Program Files  no folder or file names qbittorent and also not appearing in add/remove programs list
I only discovered today because I tried to download a torrent and it was somehow the default program.

in %APPDATA% there is only
qBittorrent.ini
qBittorrent-resume.ini

Also if it's running, you should be able to click on the exe and select open file location, or is that only latest versions of Windows...? (vista+)

You could also try re-installing it, it may ask you to remove previous version, select yes.

I think that is probably only one windows 7 or 8. Definitely not on xp, I tried looking for something like that.

But I navigated to the program files\qbittorrent folder manually and it exists... so somehow just hiddem even though I have settings in xp specifically enabling hidden files.

Still have no idea how it got here and more disturbing why it is installed in stealth :/

Maybe it was installed by another user account or administrator account and only administrator access (non-system wide)?

This! Does another person use your computer(on a differrent user account)? If yes, he probably installed it. The current installer has a problem with multi-user environments. It installs for the current users but makes changes system wide. That's why you saw it as the default program for .torrent files.
