Stalled downloads when adding new torrents

Post by jjm »

I've recently changed from uTorrent to qBittorrent but lately I've started having a couple of issues.

When I add a torrent from the search pane it adds the torrent but it just sits there saying Stalled, with no activity. If I close qBitttorrent and start it again then it swings into action and starts downloading.

The second problem I had was that it wouldn't launch again after closing it. I've uninstalled and re-installed and so far it seems to have fixed the launching problem but not the Stalled issue.

This is on v3.1.9

Maybe a screeshot with stalled torrent? (hide the name)
Also what does the log say? (view ->execution log)
(delete your IP and torrent names)

Thanks for your reply. I've attached screenshot and execution log.

I'm using a SOCKS5 proxy, don't know if that makes any difference.

Having just tried this again I had the same problem, but I left it for 10 minutes and it did suddenly kick into action. But if I close qbitttorrent and immediately re-start it it springs into action straight away. So maybe the re-install has improved things a bit

If you expand the "status" column you'll discover that that torrent is a magnet link. It tries to download the metadata first. This can take a while especially when you are behind a proxy and/or if the torrent doesn't have many peers to get the metadata from.
