QBT seems to have stopped downloading

Post by fsirett »

I have had nothing but praise for QBT up until now, but it seems to have given up the ghost for me.

First of all, I am running an Ubuntu 14.04 system and QBT 3.1.9.2. Irescently reinstalled the OS but the probem existed before that.Mostly it gave me i/o errors an most things, now it does nothing.

I reinstalled QBT and I changes the destination disk for downloads but no luck.

At this point, I am looking at changing to another disk and see if that helps, but I have my doubts.

All things seem to be working perfectly, just nothing is prepared to download.

Any ideas?

Let me add: this problem began on the previous version I had installed. I upgraded to 3.1.9 thinking that may solve the situation. It did not!

Further information: I changed to download to another drive and began downloading. All of the downloads resumed but soon they all stalled out. Other internet items seem to work just fine, So I am assuming it is not bandwidth, but I am stumped!

"Stalled" means that the connected seeds and peers have no free upload slots to service the requests your client is sending or the pieces your client is requesting are not available. It is not necessarily indicative of a client problem.

More information is require to assist further,

Connection status (Indicator (red|yellow|green) on GUI status bar?
Listening port number?
DHT node count?
Tracker status on the "stalled" jobs
Seed and peer counts on the same jobs.

And your answers may lead to more questions before the issue is identified.

Cheers!

First of all, I had about fifty files either queuedor not removed agter they were downloaded. I kept on erqueuing them and they all came up the same way.

What I have done now is I have clered them all away. Every one and started all over again and it appears to be working normally, however, if I may, I am taking down the diagnostic information you mentioned and I am going to send it in if this happens again. That should save some time.

I am also going to begin a log of the information so I can see what is usual and what is not. Maybe I can spot something when it changes and work it ot from that...not very likely, but I am an enthusiastic participant even when I have no idea. Played cricket once. Never did learn the rules. Ran when they said run, hit when they said hit and throw when they said throw. No idea what we did to win, but had a great time doing it. This is much the sme sort of thing, I think.

Cheers again!

And as another PostScript: Now that you have told me where to look for information, it looks like there is a lot of ninformation that we should all be aware of to send when we have a problem. I, for one, never looked there before and now I have, I suspect I can really make it much easier on people like you when I need help. We should all know this. Maybe everyone else does and I was the idiot that did not read the directions

Don't worry, you are not alone in that :)

remember seeders can go offline sometimes to return hopefully the next day.....
if there are more than say a couple seeders in different regions and this stays happening then maybe a problem
sometimes patience is a virtue especially with slower speeds....so relax maybe
