Change tray icon in gnome?

how do i change the tray icon?
i use faenza icon theme and i want to make a monocromatic icon for qbittorrent to match with all other in system tray
'ive tried putting a qbittorrent.png on the icon theme, and it work for the applications menu entry and the taskbar, but had no effect on the system tray

It will be a feature in 2.8 I think.

Ability to put an icon in the system tray is still no.
