Restricting web UI to LAN access only

Post by AmperAndSand »

For security purposes, how do I restrict the web UI to only allow access for those connecting through LAN only, and not the Internet? i.e. 192.168.1.0/24

Don't forward the Web UI port through your router.

Does qBittorrent use UPnP to automatically forward the Web UI port in the router? If not, then I'm guessing the port is not forwarded at all, since I haven't edited the router settings. (If that's the case, are only those connecting through LAN allowed to access the web UI?)

Also, is there a way to secure this through qBittorrent only? I'm talking about something like in uTorrent, where I was able to configure it by setting it like this:

If you have UPnP enabled it will, otherwise it won't.

Tools -> Options -> Web UI.
