I have a similar problem.

When I search something from qbittorrent engine a doble click in a file that was found doesn't start a download. It's not added as file to be transfered.

So actually a completely different problem then with only the word "search" being similar.

Anyhow,

Client version?

Operating system?

As you get results we can probably assume Python is installed but may as well check what version;

Type  python -V <enter> into a terminal/console session window

Have you tried using the [ Download ] Button?

Do you have qbittorrent set to use the "Add new torrent" dialogue?

And please do not hijack threads with a completely different problem from the original, an identical problem and you have tried the solutions already, ... ... Not a issue, hijacking a different problem that has already been solved is not.

Sorry, you are right, it's a new problem

I have Ubuntu 14.04 LTS
Qbittorrent v3.1.8
Python 2.7.6

The download button was't working

QBittorrent was downloading but It was impossible to add a new file from the search function

Yesterday I reinstalled QBittorrent in order to solved the problem
I restarted two times and acepted a new upgrade from Ubuntu in order to check that it was a real problem.

Today, I have stared my PC and the problem is solved. I can add a new file with a doble click o using "download button" from the search function. I don't undertand why !!!

I have the problem again. I have been using qbittorrent 30 minutes and doble click is not working in the search function. So sometimes the error disappear and sometimes appear.

When it's not working download button and doble click doesn't work but the selected file is changed to red as if were added for download.
The rest of functions of qbittorrent are working properly and the only way to add a new file to be download it is with a link in a torrent web page.
