QB 3.3.7 install on Ubuntu Server 16.04

I installed from the ppa stable repo, and while QB starts just fine, and I am able to change its settings, I am unable to debug a problem where it starts to download a torrent and then stops. I would love to be able to examine a log file to find out the issue. However, following the guide below, I was unable to find a log file -- nor am I able to ascertain how to force one to be created.

Might anyone know how to resolve this?

First try to start manually the qb without the systemd. Second the log file should be on .local/share/data/qBittorrent/logs/

Enable the Execution Log and check what happens.
Are you sure you have write/permission access to your folder?
