I have spent two days trying to figure out how to get the newest version installed.
This isn't my first time I have install qbittorrent and I have always used guides but this time around I can only get 3.1.10-1. It seems most of the wiki pages are outdated or the steps don't work anymore.
Can someone give me the simple commands to get the latest version installed in the simplest method?
Installing on Debian 8 server
Re: Installing on Debian 8 server
I don't use Debian, so I can't help much.
Perhaps you can find better information in the Debian forums, or maybe https://github.com/qbittorrent/qBittorrent/wiki/Running-qBittorrent-without-X-server it what you want?
Compass.

Re: Installing on Debian 8 server
Its the same as ubuntu in most cases. A debian forum won't be able to help me with qbt they will just say come here.
Re: Installing on Debian 8 server
I use Slackware 14.2 64bit, and I had to change the build script so ./configure would use qt4 instead of qt5, which doesn't come with Slackware.
Fortunately that worked, else I would have to install qt5 or use an older qBittorrent version. qBittorrent Nox would also work since it doesn't use a GUI.
I'm unfamiliar with Debian, but if Server 8 is stable, it's likely you don't have the decencies to compile qBittorrent 3.3.10. In that case, maybe you have to use an older version of qBittorrent or upgrade what you need yourself and risk breaking things. If you can install the required decencies alongside the current ones without interfering with the rest of the system, it might work. http://stackoverflow.com/questions/3239343/make-install-but-not-to-default-directories
