What the columns in torrent tracker list mean (Received,Seeds,Peers,Downloaded)?

Post by postcd »

Hello,

When i click some torrent in the qBittorrent, and then click "Trackers" tab to see which trackers are used for that torrent, i see these columns:

URL|Status|Received|Seeds|Peers|Downloaded|Message

I do not understand what these mean:

Received|Seeds|Peers|Downloaded

i mean received what, for which period. Seeds,Peers i assume for the period since qbittorent start. Downloaded i do not know, because it shows Downloaded 3 in some torrents while same tracker shows only 1 "Received" and 1 "Seeds" on same column:

I also have a torrent completely downloaded, with this status: Seeds: 0(27), Peers: 0(1)
And on the "Trackers" tab one of its trackers (p4p.arenabg.com) has:
Received: 26| Seeds 26| Peers 0| Downloaded 40

so unsure how to read this information, can anyone describe these columns so one understand how its numbers are calculated?

UPDATE:
here is mentioned that the "Received" means number of peers reported by the tracker (i assume on last announce) and this value is a sum of "Peers" and "Seeds" columns.
"Downloaded" is number of times tracker registered that a torrent was completely downloaded

Thx

Received...I'm not sure -- especially since all the listed trackers in your image show "Not working".
Seeds and Peers are how many seeds and peers the tracker has "seen" in the last few tracker updates...they are slowly forgotten if they don't do tracker updates.
Downloaded is how many peers report completing the torrent, which is probably way lower than the real number of peers that completed the torrent...especially for public trackers.
Message may be tracker-specific messages, such as torrent removed, user id/ip banned, 404 torrent not found, etc.

These columns are not very useful except to tell you if a tracker is doing much with a torrent. If you add a bunch of trackers to a torrent and all of them show only 1 peer and no seeds...that's YOUR ip/your peer and they're useless and they should probably be removed down to a minimum of 1 working tracker. Dead trackers with no hopes of coming back should definitely be removed.
Trackers are dying and going offline for good due to being overloaded by too many people adding them to their unrelated torrents, so this isn't just a matter of making qBT faster to do this!

qBitTorrent doesn't show stuff like tracker last updated times, countdown to next tracker update, or minimum update intervals allowed like uTorrent does.
It might help in solving connectivity issues and when trackers are down.
