4.1.7 Download keeps repeating over and over
Posted: Sun Aug 11, 2019 3:21 am
I was PM'ed by the torrent site advising me that I was eating mass data (~35GB) by downloading then redownloading the same torrent over and over from 0% (apparently two but specifically a 280MB torrent).
They locked me out and have reinstated me and after upgrading from 4.1.5 then from 4.1.6 to 4.1.7, the problem happened again. I then deleted the torrent (data/.torrent) and downloaded again from the site and drag&dropped into qB - the same exact problem again - therefore, reproduce-able.
I was able to downloaded the following week's torrent in qB with no issues and had been before this.
I am attempting to try Vuze (albeit they say that client is soon to be banned) ... but below is the log file (skinny as she is):
Note: don't want any backlash on ToU violations so I renamed it below (the quote versions '<<torrent_name>> looked the same but wouldn't rename - not bothering to see what the exact difference was)
When I googled the repeat download piece for qB - this has come up a number of times for years (5+) but not 100% sure if my problem is related.
Q1 - is there a way to turn off this automated cycle of redownloading instead of just failing?
Q2 - is there any other logging that could point out the problem?
Q3 - does anyone know what the problem is?
Now an extra tidbit - when I was advised of this I discovered I was very low on disk space; I was wondering if that was the cause (that it would fail with a disk space, then it would restart) but it did finish at 100% and restart from 0%. I have since freed up 600GB and again deleted the torrent completely. Or have I? Is there any known lingering of something related to this torrent that wasn't removed? I see under the appdata folder a cache folder.
I love this client - using it with RSS feeds but this is dangerous. I went from a 2.2 ratio down to 1.7 ratio ... of which I have had there for a decade - and close to 1TB up. I am reading about this problem with qB and hoping there is some setting that is causing this.
thanks

There are no errors but for the red item which is odd; not sure if there is better logging - not seeing any. The torrent has 8 seeds and AFAIK I am alone with this issue.(N) 2019-08-10T20:41:21 - Successfully moved torrent: <<torrent_name>> New path: U:\torr-comp-qt\
