Thanks a lot, I will try it out.

Edit: sadly this seems to be badly broken for me:
  • qBt starts slowly checking all existing torrents every time I open it.
  • New torrents can't be opened from the torrent file (after downloading or even from explorer), the "add torrent file" button must be used.
  • Torrents that hadn't been downloaded to the default location started redownloading to default location as well.

I'm glad to see we have a 2.9.8 build but unfortunately I'll be waiting to use/test it until at least one more person reports working or badly broken. I have a lot of files currently loaded in current downloading or uploading status.

Is it possible the 0.16 libtorrent has a different folder strategy than the 0.15? Explaining why the files are re-downloading or rehashing.

I previously used the 2.9.7 build with libtorrent 0.16 so that can't be it.

Same here. Every time starts checking existing (already downloaded) torrents from the beginning. And check only torents from a private tracker i use. Existing torrents (already downloaded) from the Pirate bay starts downloading again - not checking, downloading. I noticed that these torrents (from TPB, that means magnet links) don't remember their locations and starts downloading in the general download folder. For example: i have a general folder for downloads D:\Download and when i add a torrent it makes there a subfolder for its files. But in 2.9.8 existing torrents from TPB trying to download again directly in the general folder D:\Download and don't remember their subfolders. I tried to set them manually, but they don't remember again and attempting to download in the general folder.

I'll just add that after a pc restart the second point no longer applies, torrents are now added normally. The first two issues remain, however.

I will wait also before I use it for the same reason as loki and don't want to mess up my active torrents cause it works good with 2.9.7 (Sledge's build with uTp). Very weird to see these problems, would like to know what causes all this; Is it the different builds? Or lib bugs? Or registry problems maybe? Who knows. One thing is sure that these are ''little problems'' as you might name it, but can be irritating over time and even faster if you are not used to this behaviour.

I did a complete clean reinstall to make sure the issues weren't caused by poor compatibility with existing torrent .fastresume files. The issues persisted and I found another bug: labels don't work. They simply can't be created.

I'll revert back to 2.9.7 for now and wait for a better version.

This 2.9.8 build seems to be very buggy indeed.
Here's another bug that I just discovered:
I have a torrent that won't start, so I tried deleting it from the transfer list..
It doesn't matter if you select the option to "also delete files on the hard disk", because after restarting qBittorrent, the deleted torrent is restored back onto the list!
btw; I did a clean install of v2.9.8, and the torrent in question is not a magnet link torrent.

qBittorrent v2.9.8 only brings compilation fixes and some minimal UI fixes so the new problems are unrelated to it. If something is wrong with this build (and many users seem to agree on this), then it is likely to be either a packaging/building issue or a buggy snapshot of libtorrent v0.16. I hope mkdib can figure this out. Also it would be nice to update Qt and boost since the versions used start to be really outdated.
