Upgraded to symmetrical fiber and new faster disks, a few settings ?

Post by klepp0906 »

So i never realized just how slow SMR archive drives were to legitimate hard disks. I always had a ton of them so i put off making the swap for quite some time.

The speed difference from a seagate 5400rpm smr and a 7200rpm barracuda pro is absurd. (so is the noise difference but i digress)

I also went from a 1000/50 cable line to a 1000/1000 fiber line.

I'm trying to go through qbitorrent with a fine tooth comb to make the most of it.

I have my connections settings as
900
100
900
100

speed capped at 90000 kibs

under advanced i changed
asynchronous io to 8
outstanding when checking to 1024
disk cache to 256 (at auto it seemed to be regularly hitting write overload even without very fast download speeds)
expiry to 120s (in the past i think this was the setting that had my torrents recheck EVERY time i closed and opened qbittorrent when it was at 300 so im approaching with caution)

anyways, im just curious if theres anything anyone would change, and also if someone can tell me what "read cache hits" is under statistics and whether or not i want a low or high number?

Thanks for the time gentlemen ;p

I would advice you to read this issue page about the cache setting:

i have since increased the cache dramatically after watching some write overload and do have 32gb of memory so based on my understanding the bug doesnt seem to apply to me?

either way, appreciate your sharing of the link :)
