Looking for some software to manage libraries.

Post by ArrayQueue »

With a large library of TV and movies, are there any applications to manage this in a way?

I'm thinking of an app/webUI that will display a navigatable view of the files along with meta data, thumbnail, big banner, etc.

I'm sure I've seen something for this but I'm lost as to what this is called.

Ideally, a way to use this app to keep things updated when you add a file/episode.

And to be able to launch the selected file in VLC.

Plex? (JellyFin, Emby are similar softwares).
Maybe "Kodi"?

I just started using TinyMediaManager and it seems to be working so far. At least it works pulling the online data and saving jpg and data locally into an xml, which could then be used by any program if TMM can't handle the workload.

I tried kodi a few years ago and there was a limit on # of actors that made it unusable.

I still use TinyMediaManager and it works fine, but kodi has a limitation on # of actors making it unusable.

Using a media management application has streamlined my content organization and sharing. It's efficient and time-saving, helping me maintain a cohesive online presence. However, when it comes to my personal statement, I'm considering hire someone to write personal statement Crafting a compelling personal statement is crucial, and an experienced writer could bring out my strengths effectively. While I'm confident in using technology for media, I recognize the value of professional expertise to create a standout personal statement that truly represents me. It's about finding the right balance between my digital proficiency and seeking assistance where it truly counts.

Absolutely, you're looking for a media management application that can help organize and navigate your extensive TV and movie library. You might be thinking of a media server software like Plex or Emby. These applications provide a user-friendly interface that displays metadata, thumbnails, and banners for your media files, creating a visually appealing library.

Plex, for example, offers automatic updating of your library as you add new content. It allows you to access your media remotely and provides seamless integration with VLC or other media players. Emby also provides similar features, giving you control over your media organization and playback preferences.
