A problem I encounter

Post by barakud »

Hello,

While using the amazing qBittorrent I encounter a problem. The software is running wonderfully but the other internet isn't working correctly. By this I mean it's actually unavailable to use the internet. I ran the Microsoft

info Provider entry MSAFD Tcpip [UDP/IP] passed the loopback communication test.
info Provider entry RSVP UDP Service Provider passed the loopback communication test.
error Provider entry RSVP TCP Service Provider could not perform simple loopback communication. Error 10055.
error A connectivity problem exists with an installed LSP.

HTTP, HTTPS, FTP connectivity

warn HTTP: Error 12029 connecting to www.microsoft.com: A connection with the server could not be established
warn HTTPS: Error 12029 connecting to www.microsoft.com: A connection with the server could not be established
warn FTP (Passive): Error 12029 connecting to ftp.microsoft.com: A connection with the server could not be established
warn FTP (Active): Error 12029 connecting to ftp.microsoft.com: A connection with the server could not be established
warn HTTPS: Error 12029 connecting to www.passport.net: A connection with the server could not be established
warn HTTP: Error 12029 connecting to www.hotmail.com: A connection with the server could not be established

I would appreciate your help.
Thanks friends

Maybe you must limit your connections and speed in qB, if it's using the maximum of your internet connection. Error 10055 means that Windows has run out of TCP/IP socket buffers because too many connections are open at once. Error 12029 means that you can't connect to the requested web server and this is a consequence of error 10055.

How many connections may my computer have?
How should I use them with upload and download connections.

I have win XP, intel E7500,  2GB RAM and Sagemcom F@st 3184 in my computer.

thank you very much.

Yes. You won't be able to take real advantage of P2P software under Windows XP before you've patched tcpip.sys.
The "Event ID 4226 Patcher" command line tool that ironcross linked to will do the job..
As an alternative, you can use XP-AntiSpy (freeware):
http://xp-antispy.org/en/
..It's got a simple GUI that lets you enter which ever max connection value that you want (under "Special" > "Connection limit").
Also, the program comes with a bunch of other tweaks for Windows that you might find useful.
