In the 4.4.1 changelog the following "bugfix" was implemented.
-BUGFIX: Open correct directory when clicked on Browse button (glassez)
It's listed as a bug, but I found it as a feature. When I would go between folders in the history bar, the browse options lets me instantly change/choose/create folders in the parent directory, which is extremely useful. Rarely did I ever need to go into the same folder in the history bar. I understand that someone found this to be problematic to their use but this recent change is now problematic to my use.
My suggestion is an option somewhere in the setting to select/deselect on the browse portion opening the parent or current directory in the history bar.
