qBittorrent randomly ignores folder settings

Hi,
I have set a "temp" and a "completed" folder on a separate (non-system) partition für ongoing andcompleted downloads.
Sometimes QBittorrent behaves according to this settings, sometimes it puts the downloads in the default system download
folder in the system partition. That seems independent of the torrent website or tracker. I'm pretty sure I have experienced
this only after installing the latest version. What could be the reason? I guess that if it was a bug in this version
there would be more reports on this. I'm using Windows 11.

Version 4.4.2 didn't fix it for me unfortunately. I've had a closer look at the settings and found
that the folder I assign at "use another path for incomplete torrents" is always set back to
C:\Users\%USERNAME%\Downloads\temp
Any ideas?
