lost webui after upgrade to 14.10
lost webui after upgrade to 14.10
So I upgrade to 14.10 last night and my webui is not working any more
my qbittorent version is 3.1.9.2 and cant upgrade to 3.1.11
payam@PAYAM-UBUNTU:$ sudo apt-get install qbittorrent
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
qbittorrent is already the newest version.
any idea how to get back my webui ?

Re: lost webui after upgrade to 14.10
go to our download page and add our new PPAs. Update to v3.1.11 and see if it starts working.
Re: lost webui after upgrade to 14.10
Thanks for the reply
already updated to 3.1.11 from surfernsk ppa, and problem still not solved.
will add new repo and test again.

Can you use the unstable branch? The webui has seen major rework for v3.2.0 the past few weeks: https://launchpad.net/~qbittorrent-team ... t-unstable
Re: lost webui after upgrade to 14.10
Just as an aside to this, I'm getting 404 responses from both 'official' PPAs. on Linux Mint 16

Re: lost webui after upgrade to 14.10
The log says why. The PPAs don't have packages for the saucy version. Saucy isn't supported anymore by Canonical, thus I cannot make it build for it too.
I suggest you manually edit your /etc/apt/sources.list and add "trusty" instead of "saucy".

Re: lost webui after upgrade to 14.10
But it doesn't, it simply gives a HTTP: 404 response, and unless the user happens to know that a particular release 'code name' for Ubuntu is not "supported", it means nothing at all. I don't follow everything that Canonical does and I would guess that there is thousands of other users do not eitherThe log says why.
This is where the ENTIRE Linux community needs a very big kick in the rear, metaphorically speaking. If they expect to become a REAL force against M$ and Apple such things HAVE to a 'thing of the past'. The "That's how we've always done it and that's how it will always be done" attitude of the Debian "purist" needs to become more user friendly.
Red Hat seem to manage it with CentOS perfectly well, I've yet to have a Yum update for anything flake out on me because somebody couldn't be bothered to redirect a URL.
Re: lost webui after upgrade to 14.10
same problem with 3.2.0 alpha
also got a new problem ... keeps giving invalid username and password
only can get to webui when disable authenticaion for local host.

Re: lost webui after upgrade to 14.10
reset your username/password.keeps giving invalid username and password
You cannot just redirect a URL meant for one version to another version. The packages from the other version may have unresolved dependencies for you(eg because they're using newer boost libs which aren't available on your old version)because somebody couldn't be bothered to redirect a URL.
@Papampi
Open a bug in our bug tracker describing the problem. Hopefully the webui devs will be able to fix this.

Re: lost webui after upgrade to 14.10
@ciaobaby, I updated the download page mentioning which ubuntu versions are supported and I give direct links to the PPA pages too. It should foolproof it now.
