torrent corruption after power failure? (v4.3.9 PortableApps)

after a couple of power failures, i have a bunch of torrents that are 'downloading meta data'. torrents that show hash(?) strings instead of file/folder names.

some of them complete and show torrent names i've already finished downloading previously. these were .torrent files, not magnet links etc and even show the private tracker. i've left it over night in hopes that the others will be fixed, but a bunch remain.

also, reason for being on v4.3.9 is updating broke torrents i was previously seeding.

is there a way to repair this, or do i bite the bullet and update? i dread the thought of having to re-load all my seeded torrents.

Yea I think the fastsave data got corrupted.
You could set the default save folder to where the torrents are and bulk load the torrent files.

I'd really recommend buying a UPS though, it's very cheap and it's worth the money 100%.

You should also disable write-cache on Windows for your main drive (or all drives).
1) Open explorer, and right click a drive, Properties
2) Hardware tab
3) Pick the main drive
4) Under General, click the shield icon to change settings
5) Policies
6) And UNTICK the "Enable write cache" option.

This might slow down writes a bit, but shouldn't be too bad on an SSD. And the data safety is worth the performance hit.
Once you buy a UPS, you can re-enable this option though.

i don't know which are corrupted, or where the original destination folders were. i should probably just update, and reload everything proper.

UPS, i own 2. an older 2 battery one which stopped working. a second which uses a single battery, which i've replaced once already. the replacement battery didn't last long. we have frequent power failures here. you are right i really should be using one. i may try and replace the batteries on the other unit, as it was much more robust.

for now, i've disabled write caching.
