You'll have to wait until Chris feels like programming.
He's only human, and needs some time off every now and then.

As Tomaso said Chris(the author) seems inactive the past few weeks. Maybe he has demanding work to do or he's just taking a break from qbt development.

(If this becomes more serious and permanent, I will consider forking the project if anyone is wondering. qBittorrent is too awesome to be left to die. But for now, this is too soon.)

Is there new news on this, after trying the alpha build and, subsequent failure to run, I mistakenly reinstalled 3.0.6... which apparently still has the error. Back to 3.0.5 (again).

Wait for a 3.0.7 release (the old alpha should contain the fix)
